I'm a Southern gal who loves life, my husband and our family (which, to date, includes 13 grandchildren). I enjoy being with friends and family. But I also like being alone and thinking up plots for future books. I've published two novels, both mysteries, and I'm working on my third. For more about my books, visit me at www.sallyroseveare.com. If you ever hear me say, "I'm bored," please get me to the ER immediately! Paddling my kayak and snapping pictures of the critters I see relaxes me. Beach music has the opposite effect--when I hear those old "doo-wops" I want to dance.

SO MUCH FUN

On Tuesday, May 28th, I went on Daytime Blue Ridge, a local television show on WSLS Channel 10 in Roanoke, Virginia, to talk about my books. I had so much fun--and Heather has invited me to come back on Thursday, June 27th at noon.

Heather Hutzler, the producer of Daytime Blue Ridge, put me at ease and guided me through my four-minute segment. Heather is professional, but also a relaxed, sweet and fun person, a gracious lady. All the people who work behind the scenes to put these shows together are talented, friendly and smart folks.

The musical group Welcome to Hoonah performed three times while I watched from behind the scenes. Kevin played the bass, Jessica the washboard, and Spencer strummed the guitar. All three sang. I liked all of them and hope to see them perform here at Smith Mountain Lake in the future.

When the show's hour ended, we all hurried to the kitchen where Chef Bobby Amaral from Carlos Brazilian International Cuisine restaurant served us exotic Smores, chocolate treats to die for. Chef Bobby not only is an excellent chef, but he also has a great sense of humor and a vivid imagination. This restaurant was voted "Best Restaurant in Roanoke" by Roanoker Magazine.

Karen Wrigley, who has appeared several times on Daytime Blue Ridge, drove me to Roanoke. We laughed and talked all the way there and back. Karen is a nationally known animal communicator.
