I'm a Southern gal who loves life, my husband and our family (which, to date, includes 13 grandchildren). I enjoy being with friends and family. But I also like being alone and thinking up plots for future books. I've published two novels, both mysteries, and I'm working on my third. For more about my books, visit me at www.sallyroseveare.com. If you ever hear me say, "I'm bored," please get me to the ER immediately! Paddling my kayak and snapping pictures of the critters I see relaxes me. Beach music has the opposite effect--when I hear those old "doo-wops" I want to dance.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

On September 17th, hubby Ron, my brother Mack, sister-in-law Susan and I were tired of hearing each others' stomachs screaming for food, so we pulled into an Applebee's parking lot in Myrtle Beach. We expected a decent meal, which we received. Actually, the lunch was delicious.

But more important than the meal was the quality of service given to us. The friendly hostess seated us promptly and handed us the menus; our server treated us like royalty. The chef even came from the kitchen with extra chicken to add to our salads. And the manager, whose name is Takis, came to our table twice, chatted awhile and asked if  we needed anything else. Yes, this happens in restaurants, but the service in this Applebee's was exceptional.

So if you are in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and want a good meal with top-of-the-line service, stop by Applebee's located at 7915 N. Kings Hwy. I was so impressed that I called Applebee's corporate office to express my feelings.

MY NEW FAVORITE MUSIC GROUP

Last Saturday, after having cruised Smith Mountain Lake with friends Mary Lana and Larry for a couple of hours, I really didn't want to come home, shower, get gussied up, and head to the Bower Center in Bedford, Virginia, for a concert. But hubby wanted to go, and I love hubby, so I went. Boy! Am I glad I did.

The group After Jack, comprised of three talented young ladies, entertained all of us with their gorgeous voices and out-going personalities. I loved their enthusiasm, their incredible talent. I lost count of how many different musical instruments they could play.

Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera, so I copied the above photo from After Jack's website. That's Mary on the guitar, Emily on the bass, and Rachael, who is usually playing a mean fiddle, on the far right.

After Jack is now my new favorite music group, and I'll not miss a chance to see and hear them perform if I can help it. You shouldn't miss them, either. Check out their website and facebook pages on the links below to learn more about After Jack and to hear some of their music.
